Hi,
As you know cap reached on 30thApril for Masters, can we assume applications that reached on Sat and Sunday(28th,29th)non working(non business) days are safe? or will the be considered to be reached on Monday and hence come under lottory?

Your PD is not yet current.
If they have issued GC to you, it was a mistake and you should report it to USCIS to avoid future problems.
There were several discussions on this forum about this issue.
Report to USCIS ASAP that you have been approved by mistake.
I thought with PD of 2004 by now you should be well aware of how Visa bulletins work. :confused:
Either you went into hibernation after filing for your GC back in 2004 or you are just faking your profile.
If your PD was current, but they didn't give you a visa, that is a mistake. Why should someone report getting a visa is a mistake? He applied for the visa, he/she got it. Is it his/her job to watch USCIS? What future problems should he/she expect for getting a visa?
Further, it is great mis-impression that everyone who applies for a GC watches visa bulletins, or knows how they work. I for one, knew nothing about visa bulletins, or EB1,2,3 etc. until the Washington rally. When my LC was filed, I only knew that my GC has been filed, and it would take years. At that time, even until recently, I never even expected a GC would come before I would decide to go back. There is a higher percentage of those who don't watch VB than those who do. I know many in my circle, who are waiting for GC but never bother about VB. Some don't even have emails. Perhaps VB watching is more prominent among computer guys.

One small step for IV, one giant leap for IV members.
We still have a long way to go.
If you drink, go out and have one for IV (not many for IV members ;) )
If you don't, assume you did and contribute your bar tab to IV.
I have been pained by many comments on the "Bulletin Update" threads earlier about IV misleading its members on the timing of the bulletin etc. How many of you go around telling that you have $100,000 in your bank account?
All those folks who doubted IV and claimed IV mislead them on the timing, should apologize to the CORE team publicly.

I know lot of my friends still waiting for GC since last 7/8/9 years. As you can see MY PD is Oct 2001 and I got my approval email last week.
So dont think that everyone who is getting approved with old PD has bought a Sub labor.
People are waiting patiently for the queue to get clear and wait for their turn.

looks like it is me and you only sweet_jungle. I will still go for it. I think people have either gotten their gc and the left out ones have lost hope.

But he also mentioned that you had not started your GC process. The reporter wanted to speak to someone who is already in the process and affected by it.
We also were in touch with another highly skilled/educated PhD holder from China who was very eager to help but unfortunately his GC process had also not started

I have canceled 8/24 appointment and plan on taking appointment during first week of September. Los Angeles USCIS have plenty slot available, so taking it easy in taking appointment.

I'm not sure if I'm eligible to apply for Master's quota. I'm done with all my degree requirements and I've scheduled my thesis defence on MAy 20th. Is it still possible that I can apply in Master's quota. I've a letter from my schools which states that I'm done with all my degree requirements and I'll be finishing thesis on May 20th. Is this letter enough to apply for MAsters??

We have a very good opportunity to get our stories delivered to the powers that be by Hi-tech industry CEOs. They are looking for a story for the same

The most compelling story would be someone who was working in the U.S., who had made significant contributions in research, intellectual property creation, or who had started a company (or had plans to) and then was forced to leave. If they had then gone elsewhere and started a company, applied for a patent, etc., this would be most compelling to policymakers who still naively believe that highly-skilled foreign nationals take American jobs instead of creating them.
The person whose story we use could remain anonymous or be attributed, according to their preference.

at some point the visa numbers are going to be all used up. The lucky ones would get their GC by then and the others will have to wait for a few months.
Why worry over it? The line only gets shorter and shorter and everybody will get their turn sooner than later.
As long as they don't waste any visa numbers, there is no need for any worry. Even their random processing order does not bother me that much, because demand for EB2 will be less than supply next year. Its time for EB3 to fasten the seat belts....
