Yesterday, I got RFE for myself and my husband and need to respond by April 29th.
On my husband's 485 application we entered Last Entry Date wrong, they asked for the proof for the same and all I-797 issued to him so far. We have all his I-797 approvals and he was never out of status, but just worried that we put wrong date for Last entry Date.
I have sent the RFE to my attorney, waiting to hear his response. I am really worried what it could mean, not sure if it is a big thing or a simple RFE, need your advice.

There is radio talk guy Sean Hannity (Convervative Republican). He is very popular for his straight and truth talk on radio. He comes in 7:60 AM on radio from 3PM to 5 PM EST.
We could send an e-mail or call and request him if he could take time to talk about our problem. He is very much against Illegal Immigration. He always supported legal immigration. He himself is an immigrant. Most of the people in Congress know him. Probably this might be a good idea and hope he will talk about our problems and this wrong propaganda about us not paying taxes.

ICICI is good at advertising false figures (with our money of course) and SBI is little delayed in updating their websites - does that solves the equation :)
SBI rate is 43.21 for $4001 but i'm sure that's not latest because the website is not updated hour by hour ( like ICICI/R2i/C2i at least do for AD) but I've seen honesty in SBI's dealings when they actually convert $ to Rs. Even if the website shows lower rates they converted my money with higher rates because the market rate was higher during conversion.
As per today $ conversion rate is ICICI offering 43.28 and SBI is offering 43.16,if you transffer more than $2000. So ICICI offering better rate.

I don't think AILA is fighting this memo on the grounds that it is illegal because of the fact that E-E relationship is illegally defined by USCIS, but they are fighting on the grounds that it is illegal because such directives should come in the form of laws!
Simply put, they are telling USCIS to follow the laws passed by the Congress without providing their own interpretation. This could very well apply to AC21!
EDIT:
After re-reading AILA's response, it appears to me that they actually don't have a strong case to say that the "EE relationship" definition is illegal. They are going with the argument that a precedence has been set for 50 years, and that is one of the main reasons why USCIS should continue to interpret the EE relationship that way. I'm not sure how strong a case this can be.
Re-read AILA memo once again. You haven't noticed the main point yet. Precedence is not their main point. Precedent just provides an additional support. E-E is the most controversial item in the USCIS memo which also is illegal.

After reading through all the posts at IV, I've decided to get the Atlas America Medical insurance for my parents. This is the only comprehensive insurance I could find and most others have limited coverage. The cost is around $900 for 3 months for a $500000 policy with $2500 deductible.
Could members who had this insurance post their experience?
Also, is there any other comprehensive plan available for visitors?

If we do not get this problem resovled who will ? All the members in this forum please start taking active part in determining your future your families future and your kids futures.. please do not be short sighted or procrastinate. Take Action NOW, we can do this, please encourage one more person to join in and contribute, talk to other people who are not aware of our plight and educate them, contact your local lawmakers, be active on the forums, support the core members and each others, come on now guys.. may be all of us cant do every thing but try some things at some of the times and some other things some other times :) -- does that make sense .. I wish I was very rich I would have made a HUGE donation to IV to fight for their cause... I really respect the core members for their tenacity, dedication and inner strength to carry on this effort.. admist so much uncertainity and so many obstacles .. and the best part is .. most of the people who will benifit from it dont want to do much about it ..... ok .. I am exhausted now.... Logic Life .. how do you do it .. keep churning out .. one passionate and well thought out post after another .. actually what happen The NBC sent my I-797 Welcome notice to my lawyer and one to me but because I was not on the lease I didn't have my name written on the mail box, so the mail man returned the notice to the sender (NBC) after that the NBC when they got back the welcome notice they re-opened the case so after that I got a new message saying the last letter we sent has been returned it is very important that we have the right address blah blah blah
and then my lawyer called and made sure they have my right address since I use a PO BOX for mailing purposes not my physical address
and then I got an online message saying we mailed the document to the address we have in our file or our system something like this
and after some day I got the Document they were talking about sent to my PO BOX: it is not GC but the Welcome notice that failed to get to me in the first place
so Document in my case is the Welcome notice
I really can not believe my eyes until I will see my GC in my hand

As per our lawyers, right now USCIS is in the process of entering our applications in their system (for date of receipt and such). There was a memo from USCIS saying that they will be done with the job of data entry by August 1.
From August 1, we can expect either rejection or acceptance of the actual application. The hope is that a court/congressional intervention before August 1 will change the USCIS action of rejection into acceptance.

I think, we should start another flower campaign for Condi....she too deserves to be bombarded with flowers....I was appalled listening to her views/opinions TV on the July visa bulletin fiasco....

-- Involved in a collision few months back. As I had rear ended the vehicle, as per the investigation, it was found it was my fault(80% mine - 20% others)
-- Now after more than 18 months, I get a law suit for 3.25 million dollars(. This was served against ppl who were involved. Right now my I have my EAD and AP and maintaining H1 status.
So what are my options now?
1. Check with attorney and start defending..?
2. pack the bags and go back to my country ? If so, will there be any issues in coming back again, say after 3,4 years?
3. What about my GC?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I guess it would be a biggest decision of my life ..

SBI....
I used ICICI for 7 years....was always ok with the serivce ...did not have anything much to complain....
I did not know about SBI service being available....a few days back someone on IV forum told me to try SBI....I tried it out....
If ICICI charged me 50 paise per dollor SBI charged only 25 paise per dollor....(come one it is not free with anyone... -;)
I used SBI twice so far.....quite happy.....more over feel glad to use a nationalised bank -:)
compared to ICICI ...on a different note....my wife opened an NRI account with ICICI 5 years back and since then I have been trying to add myself as a joint acount holder....starngely ICICI's "excellent" customer service has not yet been able to do it....:confused:....I might as well give up....lol...

I am sorry, not a computer guy, but can mass mailing for funding alerts from IV be possible to "loyal customers only"? I am not sure I am giving the right idea/ thought. But what I am thinking is lets say this Administrative cost re-imbursment works, can we send to selected 1000- 2000 non-core member like anzerraja or khodalmd (for example) and ask them to send money? Like how these sticky works...just a solid click and send money sticky. Or I dont know ask everyone...see how many people come in and divide the money...it can be 100 or more.

Paid membership will not benefit the cause of IV at all. IV is a volunteer organization and paid membership will not do any good. Better approach is to raise awareness and tread a fine balance in asking for contributions.
Look at NPR. (National Public Radio) It is a public radio service and it's expenses are mostly footed by volunteer members like those who contribute for IV today. I think the key is raising the awareness and realizing that results take time.

Does the SKIL bill apply only to MS, or MBA too ?
I do not think the language of the SKIL bill clarified that. All it said was advanced degree from the US (which can be interpreted as MS, MBA and any other degree (minimum 2 years) received after a 4 year bachelor's degree). So, who knows. We will have to wait and see how it will be interpreted if and when SKIL bill comes back for discussion.
