Looking at this hue and cry, I can only tell that you guys are shit scared. Because you know that we have a very strong case. and you are mad.. because we are fighting for our rights.
>> we have a very strong case
Wow. :D How did you come to this conclusion, Mr PhD?
You have not yet demonstrated any legal basis for so called case. Like I said before, spend some money on a lawyer and learn a lesson.
I can understand your frustration after getting Oct bulletin. BTW, you have current PD for Sep 2008, so why don't you consider suing to get GC this month. :D :D

You really are getting on my nerves now.
You are no future predictor... How can you say Strive Act is doomed?...
You as well as I know that we need just handful (probably four) of votes to pass this bill.
The rally is being done to lobby for the support. And if those undecided lawmakers come into our camp then we will win and you will LOSE!
Granted Native Americans were here first but at that time America was just a land inhabited by people and it was not a nation. A nation is defined as having the following characteristics (These are UN definitions)
1. Has space or territory which has internationally recognized .
2. Has people who live there on an ongoing basis.
3. Has economic activity and an organized economy. A country regulates foreign and domestic trade and issues money.
4. Has the power of social engineering, such as education.
5. Has a transportation system for moving goods and people.
6. Has a government which provides public services and police power.
7. Has sovereignty. No other State should have power over the country's territory.
8. Has external recognition. A country has been "voted into the club" by other countries.
So America was never a nation before it became America.
Regarding you second point about Columbus, Christopher Columbus was not here look for a promised land, he and other pioneers were here to find trading opportunities. Get your history straight, India was known for Spices and Gold at that time and the pioneer wanted a piece of it. Now India has nothing to offer, other then a piece of its humongous population.
Regarding your points about, starting a company, I have already answered them before

Hi all,
I have been following this thread and some posts suggest that the Observation on the passport for correcting the name is sufficient. Here is my situation:
My passport had the name as:
Surname: A***********
Given name: P****
The correct name should be (since this is how I use it in the US now and it applies to all my docs here - GC, DL, school records, everywhere).
Surname: P****
Given name: A***********
I got this corrected in the Indian passport through an "Observation" on Page 3 which states:
The name of the passport holder appearing on Page 1 has been corrected to read as:
Surname: P****
Given name: A***********
Since this is not a "name change" as such but simply a re-alignment of the last and first names (often a source of confusion from India), I hope this is sufficient and I don't have to go through a name change to get a new passport book issued.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Isn’t it odd that the timing of your rally coincides with the introduction of the Strive act?
Granted you scored a point when you were allowed to file for employment authorization this July. If your one rally worked, do you really think other rallies will work too? The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. We will see what we can do… One thing I believe though is this country needs people with leadership skills and not so called "Highly Skilled". So I will be more than happy to work with you. I am sure you have my e-mail address. At the least, I can help make the process faster for you, if so called visa numbers are available.

EB3 Guys,
Take it easy... This is just for humour, to have fun at these times.
No green card for you. Just work well for 6 years, enjoy life in US, enjoy sports cars by renting, not by buying, rent a big house, have a lawn and garden in back yard, grow your own vegetables. Have nice vacations like Hawaii, Jamaican islands, Vegas, Porto Rico etc.,Have fun in life. Do not go for green card. After 6 years, get nice job in India, own apartment near to office and ask your parents to live with you. Take kids to school . Have fun with them. Try to become director, AVP,VP,SVP,CEO,CTO and President. Do not go for green card. After you become director, buy a single family home and mercedez or BMW and have fun. Retire by the time your kids become earners. Grow vegetables in back yard. Do gardening and have fun. Thats how life should be. Do not hope for green card. H A V E F U N.
Well said. Actually renting a "house" in a good place gives you a much better quality of living for a few bucks more, without the headaches and commitments (read green card) of mortgage, downpayments etc.

Students,
Please make sure your EAD doesnt start before October 2008. That way, you will have 2 complete chances of getting H1 if things wont change even after presidential elections.
General Rule of thumb is "Graduate in august put start date as October 1st for your OPT"
This is not easy coz when we graduated in 2000-2001 area we didnt had to choose some date just bcoz the visa ia not available. We used to worry more about getting a good job than this visa and we used graduate when coursework & thesis are complete. I think things have changed drastically.
Hope this helps.

The Receipt date is the date when they actually receive our case in a Service Center. Notice date is when it got entered into the system. I-485 Notice shows both the RD and ND. RD should be August 17 for most of us, whose cases were transferred to various Service Centers. Online status shows the ND. The only confusion here is what do they go by(may be USCIS it self not sure how to prioritize - whether on ND or RD).
Strictly speaking, if they go by ND and if the ND is after Aug-17 we may not be eligible for GC, as our(July/Aug 07 batch) cut-off dates is august-17-2007. This is what I was told by DAO when I attended the interview at the local USCIS office.
As mentioned earlier, USCIS suppose to process by the RD (ie. the date they received in the service center mail room) - but the fact is, they are going by the ND (i.e. the date they entered the case into the system).

You must be kidding. This is a "community of cowards and whiners", the "educated illiterates" who consider themselves elites but who are actually "losers". They will not do anything other than express "support" and ask someone else to work on their "brilliant expression of support". You will not hear from anyone. That's where it ends.

Sanju,
You may have the right intentions and your heart might be in the right place. I am at a loss to understand the philosophy of your approach. I get it that in numerous previous 'campaigns' people committed to funds/help but failed to come through with action.
But I question your approach and the need for such scathing attacks. Please do some research and see if historically, 'tough love' or hurling insults has motivated people. The answer is a big fat NO.
A leader has to influence people to go from motivation which lies just below the threshold to a desire to cross the threshold to action.
Why do people decide on acertain course of action and how this turns into committment? It is known as Volition.

I have been reading and researching a lot for the last few days as to how non-profit organizations can attract funds.
I have learnt that you have to build relationships with donors, demonstrate increased accountability, and diversify your fundraising methods among other things.
This resource has excellent white papers which gave me some background.

Request: Please do not attack the messenger (me). Think about the content of my post and comment. I have nothing but good intentions to help IV and ofcourse myself.

I have a problem where my "Given Name" is entered as "<first name> <last name>" in my passport (India). The "Surname" is left blank. I have been in the US for 7 years now and it has never been a problem so far. I usually enter the "<last name>" in the last name column on all documents. I wonder if this will cause problems during the I485 name check stage. Any one here who can throw some light on this issue?
I realize that the question is a little weird, I appreciate any response.
Thanks
I have a similar problem with my name in the passport being not broken as first, last and middle. I never had any issues until an immigration officer pointed it to me while extension visa stamping. As it was hand written in the passport I just mentioned that it would have been an error and I really don’t have time to get it corrected. She gave me a stare and let me go at that time.
I filed my I-485 and had no issue with anything including name check which I assume got cleared. My passport is expiring soon may be I'll get it sorted out at that time. I hope this helps.

So typical of you guys. Once you lose an argument you start abusing and if the opponent is a female its more the merrier for you guys. Do you even know the basis rule of being polite with everyone in USA. So if the guy is an american you will kiss his feet. The moment the person is an indian you start abusing if it is an indian female then you have a licence to abuse

I pledge $50 for this effort.
This data will be very useful in making a solid case for fixing EB GC issues.
With this data, our claim will be supplemented and supported by the figures. Which is going to be really helpful for our cause.
Come on folks, this is very important..
Everyone is going through a hard time, but this expense of $25 is simply too important to ignore.
We can do it...
Amit, You are really a great asset to community. Thanks for all your support. This will be a good motivation for others.
Guys, we are going really well. We need to make this happen. Yes, we can!

We have been fooled so many times in the past with the predictions of the visa allocation being over etc. I would take this with a grain of salt.
